Blood Jungle Holocaust

about

This was one of the final tracks we conceived for this album, the first version appearing early in 2010. At the time, since we were still focusing more on the satirical "edge" of our music, the idea was to make a song with a lot of "jun" in it, that sound typical to metal that involves down picking and palm muting. Part of the original song was actually taken from one of our old bands, Peppermint Kids, and involved almost a full minute of the "jun" to the point that it annoyed audiences. That was the intention, of course. We eventually got more serious and decided by 2012 to change it, and we added a more serious middle section reduced in time. In addition, instead of going with the whole metal jaguar idea of the original song, we made this the "death metal" counterpart to track five on this album, which is the "black metal" track. It went through a number of title changes including "He Feeds" and "Jungle Feast." I finally settled on "Blood Jungle Holocaust" to reference the primary inspiration of slasher films that we used, which should be obvious from the samples.
