about

This is the final track Comparative Anatomy worked on for this album. You can tell because of all the textures we added to it, it's pretty dense with samples and layers of instrumentation. Work began on it in November of 2011, almost a full year after we had originally intended on finishing the album. By that time we were burned out from touring, sick of our faces melting off under the masks while we played, and people just not getting the whole idea of it. We ripped some music from old video games, altered it, looped it, and used that as the groundwork for the song proper, which we then built in the same scale as the samples. Lots of the samples come from old vampire films since the song's about a vampire shark countess. This has some of our favorite animal samples. Being that sharks don't really make any sounds, it was tough to decide what to put together. Within the track you'll find some interesting ones, such as an actual recording of a feeding frenzy, which by coincidence has a texture to it something like blood pumping through veins.
