Rattus Medicus Insanus

from Predator by Comparative Anatomy

about

This was I believe the third track we conceived for the second album, around 2009. The original title, while we were still focused too much on humor, was "Back Alley Bonanza." Obviously that was dumb, but we had no idea what to do with a song about a bunch of rats running around. Eventually we settled on the rat being a sorcerer, and then thought it would be funny to have him be a really bad stage musician, so the title was changed to "Rattus Norvegicus Acanus." This was keeping with the sorcerer idea but making it dumb since it was a stage magician who sucked. The ending part of the live video we had with the music had the rat magician doing a final trick where he made a mouse appear in his hand that vomited for the finale. When we got serious we decided to splice a bunch of forgotten mad doctor film ideas together and made it about a mad scientist rat, keeping the Latin-based title for obvious reasons.
